TRII RUNDIN

TRII RUNDIN

VALLE D'AOSTA BIANCO DOC

For some years now, talking about viticulture in the Alps means speaking of Pinot Grigio, one of the most planted varieties ever. In the Aosta Valley, however, this vine is not a trend, but a centuries-old presence in the territory, celebrated and recounted as a grape of the highest quality. Henri’s first attempts at white wine cross with these two aspects: the desire to cultivate a grape that has found its genius loci in the Valley, regulating it according to his idea of Pinot Grigio: certainly aromatic, but also long, aristocratic, full.

VIOUX

Vioux

Henri’s passion for Cornalin has been an uphill climb. A difficult, stern and unpleasant cultivar that has been hard to love. But like in all romantic stories, time has softened one and the other, and for Henri’s thirtieth, Vioux has sealed this new union. The wine represents the perfect biography of the grape’s oenological characteristics: reserved and fruity when first poured, becoming full and deep at the end of the tasting. A great wine produced by a vigneron that has been conquered by Cornalin over time.

HARVEST

DESCRIPTION
Full ruby red. The nose reveals an assortment of small berries: raspberries with ripe strawberry and blackberry. The aroma also hints to geranium and fresh rose with pleasant spicy touches of cloves and nutmeg. The palate is a balance of acidity and salinity, supported by a remarkable body and alcohol content. A curious and gastronomic bitter finish completes the picture, with aromatic hints of raspberry.

Who I am

Who I Am

In each Bildungsroman, the moment when the protagonist “grows up” is described.

In my personal history, this transition took place in 2013, when I decided to rent a vineyard owned by Filippo Garin and start making wine, without external conditioning, under the name of La Plantze.

My name is Henri Anselmet and wine, for me, is a family legacy. In the 1980s, my grandfather Renato was president of the Associazione Viticoltori of Villeneuve (Villeneuve Winegrowers Association), starting a slow revolution which years later, thanks to the teachings of canon Joseph Vaudan, helped to change the face and quality of Aosta Valley wines. My father is Giorgio Anselmet, owner of Maison Anselmet, and he is part of that “second wave” of vignerons of the valley who, at the end of the 90s, believed in the value of native varieties, making their expressive potential known all over the world.

Just over 6 hectares along the Dora Baltea, in the Aosta Valley, for a production that does not exceed 20,000 bottles.
La Plantze is the dream of a winery free from regulations and conditions.
The rules are not made by protocols, but by the desire to experiment and to get involved, producing wines from the Aosta Valley for the fearless onlookers.

My

Plots

In Patois, a dialectal variant of the Franco-Provençal language spoken in the Aosta Valley, La Plantze means «terrace».

«terraces» are the vineyards that occupy my working days, plots of land often held up by dry stone walls, typical of the Aosta Valley, which climb up even very steep slopes, at altitudes ranging from 600 to 1000 meters.

My wines are an expression of the season and experimentation.
